>>24563789>I personally think current Expanded is one of the worst formats in the history of the game.I'd love to see your reasoning for this trash opinion. Have you been following the top 8's and top 32's and streamed matches of the regional season so far? Expanded has been absolutely fucking phenomenal.
Tyrantrum EX and Archeops gained new life in Expanded. Sableye has perfected the deck out strategy. Vespiquen and Flareon come together to create a streamlined powerhouse of a deck. M-Rayquaza EX, Donphan and Primal Groudon EX went from obscure rogue decks to top 8 winning decks. Genesect EX and Seismitoad EX, once enemies, have been fused to create an amazing disruption deck. Tool Drop and M-Manectric, another unlikely pairing, made sense as the natural progression of Garbador decks. Even Vileplume has carved out a niche as a gimmicky, but sometimes brutal, lock deck.
And continuing,
>>24563882>Expanded is a culmination of all the problem cards from the last several years put together. It's stagnant. We're seeing the same exact things we've seen in the past with absolutely nothing changed and nothing unexpected. There used to be solace in knowing that formats would be refreshed by an eventual rotation, but Expanded goes and throws that out the window. This is so absolutely fucking wrong it physically pains me to read it. Nothing changed? Nothing unexpected? Tyantrum-fucking-EX won a fucking regionals.
The BW-AOR expanded format has so far been such a tidal wave of ebbing and flowing creativity and viability of so many new decks, to criticize it just because Archiestoise, Yveltal, Night March and Seismitoad are still popular deck choices is indicative of a head so far up one's ass one would choke on his or her own lower intestine. Look at the top 8's and top 32's and watch the Twitch streams and read the post-tournament analyses and watch the interviews of the people who topped. You will find that your opinions are far from anywhere close to reality.
