>>52495281With a very limited knowledge of the area, I could give a few guesses:
>Geographically speaking, there'd probably be tons of content centered around the mildest, wettest parts of the country--the coast (well, for the most part). Expect lots of seafaring. In fact, that might even be the main way you get around, rather than exploring routes the majority of the game. In that sense, the region would be more like a set of Hubworlds, with a lot to do outside of the main cities. You'd probably go mountain hiking in the wild, finding lusher pockets of springs, ponds, and caves amidst all the rocky terrain. A system similar to Grottos in B2W2, but expanded upon, would be well-suited for these areas. You could also find smaller villages there, maybe people living nomadically, moving around different parts of the mountain range depending on the time/day/week/etc. There'd also be your standard grasslands, albeit more limited due to the climate there. Maybe you could also do something with the major river systems in Egypt (and to a lesser extent, Morocco)? Tours? Fish-catching competitions?
>Culturally speaking, you'd see a very large amount of references to foreign regions, whether they be Paldea, PokeArabia, PokeOttomans, PokeItaly, PokeGreece, etc. Whether it's through tales of legendary battles, a golden age of piracy and privateering--which would be a good excuse as any for an 'evil team' of the region--or waves of mass conquering by kings and emperors (the Romans, the Greeks, the Arabs, the Arabs 2, the Turks, and a fuckton more if you're talking about Egypt specifically). Lots of internecine fighting that could also be scrubbed down to 'really intense rivalries between gym leaders, trust me guise!!!' I don't know a ton about the area other than that, though.
Honestly, I think it'd be pretty interesting. By the way, is Egypt included? You could practically do a region on that place alone, so I don't know if its the best idea to lump it in like that.
