At that point I suspect that they only shit on Mega Evolution because it's flashy and dramatic enough that it tricks dummies into thinking it has a more significant effect on gameplay than it actually does. This is especially the case when it comes to people who compare it to dynamax. The two mechanics are vastly different from each other in terms of how they function and how they influence the game, and yet people just look at the surface level similarity of "they're both about having Pokémon achieve a super powered form" and ignore what the two mechanics actually do in practice. Megas are literally just alternate forms (something we already had by the way, the only thing that makes megas special (gameplay wise) is that you can only use one at a time. Dynamax on the other hand is more like a multi-use z-move that also gives you stat boosts. The two are totally different, and yet people insist on arguing about which one is better.
