>>54681204Doing this method took four rounds to find a majority winner (50%+1 votes, or 10, for a field of 18). Here are those results:
>First round eliminated (only got one vote each): OS-Johto, Diamond and Pearl, Best Wishes, Journeys>Second round eliminated (3 votes after reallocation): Advanced Generation>Third round eliminated (4 votes after reallocation): X&Y, leaving OS-Kanto and Sun and Moon as the last viable options>Final round eliminated (ultimately 7 votes total): OS-KantoSo the winner with the 10 required votes:
Sun and Moon.Note: Sequence of elimination does not necessarily mean ranking. If we eliminated all first-pick votes and started with only the second choices, there's a chance that the winner would've also won second place. But if I reverse and start by counting the 8th place votes, we can see who the least favorite is.
Least favorite after three rounds:
Tie between OS-Johto and Best Wishes, as neither got 10 votes. One respondent did not rank Johto, but instead ranked X&Y twice, so the end round was 9 votes Johto, 8 votes Best Wishes, with that one unallocated vote leading to either a tie again, or Johto getting the 10. Everyone's a loser! This was fun to do. Let's do it again sometime. Hope you all enjoyed!
