Why would a type called normal be the one that can learn the most outlandish moves?
Snorlax can learn all these moves too it's just a fat monster thing it has no obvious "magical" abilities it basically is just a kaiju style monster or mythology style of monster that can have random abilities just because which is basically what most gen 1 mons actually are even if some of them are loosely based on animals so are many kaiju and mythological creatures
