Unless he's let his guard down and he's talking normally, it doesn't really demand any real level of consistency, just whatever feels right in the moment. My only criticism would be that Kaiji tends to choose his words carefully and has too much of a filter to have let that one line slip, but I honestly don't really care if things are bent slightly for the sake of a joke unless it's, like, a super important scene or something.
Anyways, the story got me thinking about what my characters' drinking habits would be. Kaiji would probably be the type to go out for drinks and barely drink any himself, making careful note of whatever the others around him say with their filters down, in case any of it is useful later. Most people (Kaiji included) don't let Kris drink because he's already crazy enough, but if he did then the results would probably be funny. Ronnie (McNumel) is still in high school so wouldn't actually be old enough to drink, which is exactly why he'd do it at every chance he could get, because it's "cool" and "adult". I don't think he would handle alcohol very well, and would probably get drunk faster than everyone else. 50/50 whether he drunkenly recounts decently-entertaining stories of customers that jumped the counter or the new guy that tried to put out a fire in the deepfryer with ice, or if he just stumbles around acting even more retarded and annoying than usual.
Don't think I've forgotten about the Cyndaquil shitpost I promised, currently trying to nail down the exact order of events in the outline
The original idea I had has REALLY snowballed in my head and now it's gonna be a two-parter with a little piece of art for each one. Work on it has been slow as I focus on my next two stories and a bit of art for the second, though
