The campaign fucking sucks, battles are braindead easy and the supposedly interesting mechanics do not come into play at all unless you play competetive which is a cesspool in itself regardless of whether you play VGC or Smogon because Game Freak can't into balancing. Catching mons is entirely RNG and too many factors like potential crits are out of your control.
The writing is awful, every villain is cartoonishly stupid without being funny and every supportive character fellates the player 24/7 with very few exceptions and instead of just letting you travel through the region you always have to be halted by the fucking villain teams and their shitty cannon fodder grunts with the same handful of low level shitmons. Even RBY are guilty with this with Team Rocket and it got only worse as time went on.
I quit with the announcement of Ultra Sun & Moon and I'm legitimately just here for memes and porn and out of curiosity/hope that maybe they can get shit done soon because in my heart I still care about this series and want it to be better.
