>>41141489Yeah, because those games made over 1 billion and one of the things that made Gen 2 work so well was it's compatibility with Gen 1 as a result with the Game Boy and Game boy Color working together. Now imagine if some nintendo exec said: "Hey, we have a new handheld coming out very soon. It has no functionality with any of the older consoles we've made but at least it is compatible with our new home console we're going to release around the same time. All we need you to do make that game you made before that made us all a shitload of money. Oh and the home compatibility, we'll leave that to the devs that know what they're doing" Even then it came out a year late and was pretty much set up for failure.
