Given that he's the eldest child in his family and has most likely had to fill in for Melony when she's too busy with Gym Leader stuff, I'd say Gordie would have some basic cooking skills at the very least. Even with simple dishes like curry, he'd try to add some personal flair to it. (Some attempts turn out better than others, but you can't really fault him for it.)
