I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Lance likes grilling like every other man. He doesn't realize how generic this is and takes great pride in this particular "skill" because he likes it, though he has basic kitchen skills and can follow basic recipes. His """specialty""" is campfire roasting freshly-caught fish because he's done it a million times while out training and it doesn't require him to carry an entire kitchen of utensils.

Yes, he will put that charred barebones hardly-seasoned-with-whatever-you-convinced-him-to-use hobo meal in front of you and smile proudly for providing you with sustenance even though you passed a million herbs that morning and you had room for a small saucepan, utensils, seasonings, and coffee in your pack. And it winds up tasting better than you care to admit just because you're so damn hungry.

He's vibing in his apron, then the doorbell rings. he comes over to you and he's enamored, he bites his lip, youre talking in the doorway for a few minutes.

Then the smell of burning. He flips out and both of you run into the kitchen and Golisopod has to liquidate the shit out of the stove, now his apartment is flooded.

You giggle as he says he knows there's a great restaurant down the road and he takes off the apron, frowning.

You go over to the pan and taste a bit of the unburnt sauce- it would have been amazing but you keep it to yourself as he mumbles, grabbing his jacket.

Raihan spent the entire day watching youtube videos on how to make ribs in an apartment, because of course he did. Hungry, he attempts to figure out his stove that he's never used, preferring eating out and getting delivery at the gym. But he's a protein man, drinking his protein shake.

So he's trying to figure out the dry rub spices, and has no idea how to measure things, and he uses too much pepper. Way too much pepper, so much that he starts to sneeze but he doesn't know why.

Oh wait, cooking selfie.

You now know what he's making you, and you can see the half empty bottle of pepper, and the wrapper that once covered the pepper meaning he just bought it that day.

When you show up, he is eager to try them with you, says he even has a bunch of sauces.

On the table he has a collectors edition, 32 different sauces and he wants to try each one.
You both try the ribs dry, and both struggle to get through that first bite but you do it because you don't want him to be sad.

He then offers to get take out and takes the rib from you before you can take another bite, but decides to squeeze some BBQ sauce in his mouth- picking the spicest one.

Instant regret as you now have to take care of him for the rest of the night.

You get a facetime call and he's in the woods, because of course he is. You ask him if he needs help or if he wants to reschedule.

He hesitates and nods.

This is the 3rd time now you've had to reschedule.

My husband’s official art also changes up how his face looks because of artist changes between his in-game appearances and card art, so I just took the best parts of them and blended them in with my own style.

He sits over his fire, shirtless, sweaty, hair tied back and watching his meat cook, fresh veggies beside it. He remembered learning from Beni, that weird ninja dude who can cook real well, and he basted the shit out of that finely carved piece of meat.

He knows what he's doing, he is unbothered, moisturized, and in his element.

You eventually find your way to the diamond camp, and he brings you into the main hall where he's told everyone else to literally fuck off and not return, even if dialga himself was shitting on their front lawn.

He sits you down, the smell of man in the air, and brings the dishes over and sits down, staring at you from behind some hair, trying to watch your reaction, eager to please, but internally arguing with himself that he didn't use enough salt.

It's perfect, it's primal, and you lose yourself in the meat. then you lose yourself in other meat right there on the table because holy fuck you found nirvana in this world and never want to leave. no memory is worth sacrificing this moment.

When Petrel invites someone to eat something, whatever it is, he's really comfortable around that person. Probably sees them as a friend, coworker, pal, or even something more intimate. Keep in mind he's a team rocket executive, of course he has to keep it low, but that doesn't mean he can't have fun.

If he's trying to impress a person, he takes them to the finest restaurant available just to flex his status then he ends up running from such restaurant because Looker is on his tail again, how did he found out about Petrel's whereabouts? No one knows.. But if he feels genuinely grateful, he will cook something for them; probably a roasted slowpoke tail alongside with some curry. Not the best dish around, but hey, if Proton, Ariana and Archer likes it, why not?

Fuck. He has no idea what he is doing. His glasses end up in the pan as he struggles, and tosses them out and across the room as he startled himself, but has a schizo moment, he needs to get serious.

He tosses his first attempt, and tries again- he's got time. He imagines Gordon Ramsey yelling at him, calling him an idiot sandwich because he needs the motivation to do his best.

He's not happy with it. Time crunch, he can start over right? He turns up the heat, but ends up catching the pan on fire.

You knock, you hear him shout "just a sec!"

You hear a fire extinguisher and get concerned.

He laughs nervously, opening the door a bit and steps outside explaining that he got caught up in work and failed to make something tasty. You point to his lab coat which is on fire.

help put it out and go out for some street food instead, having a lovely walk around Mesagoza, and there are fireworks for some reason, because Jacq is a lucky son of a gun and says he planned it all along.

Nanu isn't like other girls, this is one fine trad house husband.

He works his grill the same way he works his rizz- to the max, deliciously, effortlessly.

He makes a good Hawaiian burger, and yes it has fresh pineapple on it from the back woods because shutup thats how pineapples work.

Nanu has a nice deck, overlooking the ocean and of course he wants to eat out there, so he lights some torches, turns on the lights, it's atmospheric AF.

You can smell the grill as you roll up, the sweet of the pineapple and the heat of some sauces he combined himself.

He lets you in, his fluffy flipflops still on. The sun is setting with a perfect view of the horizon, glow bugs start coming out and you sit down, taking a bite of the juiciest burger you've ever had. Every texture is spot on, the cheese is melty, the pineapple is sweet and balances the spicy sauces, and the buns are toasted to perfection.

He knows it's good too, but he doesn't say anything, just hums lightly in approval of your constant praise.

All his current recipes are ones that he's tried and learned how to make for himself and he's very much a home cook since he hasn't started doing any formal culinary training.

He'd probably make one involved protein or dish to try something new and be able to easily make sides that pair well, all while trying to keep things relatively healthy.

I could see him making a really nice herbed baked whole chicken with crispy skin and some roasted or sauteed veggies with a sauce as a side. Nothing too fancy, but filling, warm, and comforting. Like him ;__;

Given that he's the eldest child in his family and has most likely had to fill in for Melony when she's too busy with Gym Leader stuff, I'd say Gordie would have some basic cooking skills at the very least. Even with simple dishes like curry, he'd try to add some personal flair to it. (Some attempts turn out better than others, but you can't really fault him for it.)

With all the cultural crossovers between the regions, both are probably unabashed Kantoboos.

Ingo cooks to exact recipes and measurements, and would spend far too long making you a katsu curry entirely from scratch while you wait politely, and Emmet wanders into the kitchen even though he's been banned for the evening and gets smacked with a wooden spoon for messing with the seasoning.
Emmet's cooking is much more freestyle but usually turns out okay, though he'll order takeout at the drop of a hat when his experimental okonomiyaki end up going to hell. But he's a surprisingly disciplined baker so you get to share one of his muffins while you wait.

He gave his underlings a day off, because he doesn't want anything to go wrong and doesn't need his phone ringing.

This italian yakuza lookin' beefstick imported the finest of ingredients and has a hankering for something fine.

He's got all the exotic ingredients, all the forbidden fruits of the world, all the shiny slowpoke tail.

It's intimidating, going to this man's mansion. You're let in, you're guided to a large dining hall to your seat. He walks in, greets you, and serves you even because he is traditional AF and this is a big deal for him, he can't remember the last time he cooked for someone else.

He even pours you a perfectly paired wine in the cleanest glass you've ever seen- a glass which costs more than your whole outfit and bling.

...Except for a stray beige hair he finds in his own food, but all you hear is him mumbling about skinning his cat.

AZ struggled to recall some of his favorite meal recipes as he hadn't thought of them in so long, but some things you never forget.

You go to the table and you sit in the chair and realize you're in a goldilocks situation. He made the furniture to fit him, because of course he did, which means the food portion is also massive. An innocent oversight, but you crawl into the chair and you sit up on your legs and you enjoy a meal with him as he sits there quietly, shyly.

despite your praise, he still thinks he could have done better. Wholesome AF.

then he cries about his pokemon waifu for an hour after the meal, saying she would have loved it too.

There's no way he knows how to cook. I doubt he's even seen the inside of a kitchen. Team Plasma probably had him on some culty, no fun allowed diet consisting mostly of supplements and wheatgrass juice, and before that he just ate whatever his Pokemon friends brought him. Even after the events of the games, while he's wandering he's probably mostly living on raw berries brought by wild bird Pokemon like the magical disney princess he is.
But that's fine, if he wants to try cooking, we'll just have to do it together! he can make something simple that doesn't need heating like salad or pesto, anyone can make pesto. And once he's mastered cutting vegetables and putting stuff into food processors, maybe we can get a panini grill for delicious caprese paninis. I imagine he'd like sandwiches and other simple, portable dishes that are easy to eat outside, and he'd prefer a picnic over a big fancy white table cloth affair and so would I c:
We'd also have to make soft serve for homemade casteliacones in the summer. It might take a few tries but he's smart, he can probably figure out how to replicate that super light and fluffy style that's popular in Japan.

No anon, you don't understand. The Turo we met gave away his unique copy of the Violet Book - the one he wrote his name into when he was a little kid (hence the "clumsy handwriting"). The very book we received from Arven in the past, then put into the time machine to stop it, because it was programmed to be stopped only by that book. That means that Turo is NOT the same Turo from our timeline. It's literally impossible to be him, he doesn't have the book anymore, so it's not a classical timeloop. It's a parallel universe. The Turo that we met will have a different fate because he gave the Violet Book away. And the Turo that died in our timeline/universe received the white book from someone else from another timeline (either someone completely different, possibly Kieran, or a different iteration of the MC).
We changed Turo's fate in the universe he is from. Maybe asking him about his family made him rethink things on the spot and value the book less. Maybe seeing Miraidon being real made him lose the desire to build the machine since he had seen that it is in fact real so he didn't feel like having to prove it anymore by building a time machine.
It's a "turtle all the way down" thing - both literally with Terapagos but also metaphorically with some weird timeloop and parallel universe bullshit going on where one timeloop influences the other and creates a new timeloop. Maybe the Turo we've met at the lake will spend more time with Arven. Maybe we created a parallel universe where he grows up happy.

Because the circumstances were different, we just don't know how exactly. As I said, it was either a different child who gave him the book, or just a different iteration of the MC. However, I think it was someone else entirely, someone who didn't meet Arven and/or someone who didn't have Miraidon. As I said, Kieran is a possibility. But (You), as the MC, asked him about his family, which might've been exactly what sparked his change of mind.
A second factor is the Miraidon. In "our" timeline, he said that he retrieved it from the time machine and then named it Miraidon. The fact that he had never seen it before (only concluded that it looked like the Iron Serpent from the book) implies that that didn't happen for him yet, since he didn't even know the name (which he, in our timeline, came up with in the first place). Maybe seeing it like "Guess the Iron Serpent is indeed real" made him care less about his obsession, since it was about proving that the cryptids in the Violet Book were real, which is the whole reason he wanted to build a time machine. But since the thing he wanted to prove stood right in front of him, he thought something like "Well, guess I have the proof right here. Do I really still need to bother with that machine?"
And that's probably also what made him offer his book in exchange instead. I think in the moment he contemplated the meaning or goal of his research plus the realization of how lonely his son must be, it hit him that he cared too much about the book. So he decides to part ways with it in exchange of the book.
Also, don't forget that the content of the white book might be WILDLY different from what it said in our timeline, assuming MC wasn't there for that one.

I think it makes sense to assume that the child of the lake is always going to be Florian/Juliana, there's no reason as for why Turo should be the only consistent character across the different timelines. And I'd also assume Miraidon would be present at the lake every time, too. This encounter would encourage Turo to focus on two goals, one of them summoning his own Miraidon after seeing proof of its existence, which makes more sense than accidentally bumping into it. The other would be the AI. As soon as you meet him you're given the dialogue option to ask if he's the AI Turo, to which he replies "what an occurrence, although now that you mention it that'd be helpful..." meaning that this simple question might have prompted him to create the AI we ended up fighting.
So the way I see it, this meeting has been taking place in the exact same way every time, with the only exception of the family question and gifting the violet book which must have either triggered a different timeline or put an end to a timeloop, if there was one. Other than that, I think the protag and Miraidon being there at the lake every time are a given.

That's fair. I stopped playing Pokemon once all the newer games moved to the Switch since I don't own one and had very little interest in getting one either. I hate to break it to you guys but most Hisui husbandos probably smell fine, actually. Daily bathing being part of Japanese culture is basic weeb knowledge, and it's been like that since the Edo period. Everyone in Jubilife at least is probably bathing on the regular, maybe there's a bathhouse or something. Volo, Ingo and Adaman are more debatable since their cultures are different, but Unova is basically Japanamerica anyway + the Icelands do have the hotsprings, and if you're a trainer then taking a bath would be as easy as

That's not the case for me since I find Yugioh men some of the better husbandos out there and they're full anime boy with their personality and designs. Scent is something that is highly important in nature for all kinds of animals. Its the way to identify other members of one's species, potential threats, food that's good to eat or not, etc. It isn't that much of a surprise to be inclined to like scent, but personally I'm more into more conventional smells like cologne, perfume, scented candles, etc. instead of natural musk. The older style had sharper lines which meant more masculine-looking designs. Creative freedom with the current in thing to popular male designs these days kind of forces the artists to pander to the lither and prettier boys with the occasional rare ossan/bara/chub to catch the attention of others who don't care for the former. Not that I don't have a decent amount of older gen faves, but I think the husbandos have been getting even better since Gen 7 but I'm an old man fucker and Brassius was designed in a lab to be RTMI. Agree that the art style has been going downhill since around Gen 6, but I mainly notice it on the girls because their legs keep getting skinnier. I miss thick legs, bros.

My favorite part from that dream was the brief time I was alone with Tabitha at its tail end. We walked around a park (or some woodish-looking area) and held hands while talking about something. The mood was very casual and pleasant.
Overall I'm happy to have had a dream with Tabitha AND Brodie (and Shelly even!), despite nothing happening in the grand scheme of things. Wish we all could've actually eaten some food and talked at that diner instead of having that dumb time-wasting nothing burger of an event transpire instead.

Maybe. That's not exactly why early-gen characters tend to work better for me, though - my taste in Pokemen (regarding appearance) can range from Attila to Ilima, so I'm not wooed with just "masculine".

I definitely prefer such dreams over certain bullshit my brain keeps forcing on me during sleep!
