First and foremost, Pokémon is fiction.
Pokémon are fictional monsters, no matter what animals, plants, objects, cells, aliens, mythological lore/creature, extinct life, etc that Pokémon are based from isn’t going to reflect to our recourses when we take a look at our limited real-life counterparts.
It doesn’t mean that you ignore what Pokémon or the said Pokémon is based off of and completely incorporate changes what it was originally was previously (turning a majority of Ghost Types and Giratina insects or turning Magnemite and Magneton into literal floating crabs) because you’ve done little to no research, ignored their origins, and forcefully limited yourself into making what is a fictional work “realistic”.
Secondly and Arvalis worst offense, biology. Too all of the defenders of Arvalis, you cannot tell me that any of his art are “realistic” and biologically correct.
Charizard shown above would collapse from its weight because realistically it’s legs wouldn’t support its weight!
The same logic applies to Feraligatr. He just drew an alligator without actually thinking about how it couldn't possibly stand up and walk like that. Whereas the supposedly less realistic original Feraligatr has legs clearly designed for walking upright, something that the designers of the LegendaryGoji took in mind and gave him legs that clearly support Godzilla structure and weight.
