I can't say I'm ok with gamefreaks shilling either, especially with Pokemon like Charizard. But it seems like once again my points have been missed.
I'm saying it's ok to like the popular ones if you really want, and it's ok to like the pokemon that have a lot of fetish art. In other words, you don't need to worry about the culture/stigma surrounding the Pokemon, to like the Pokemon. And yes, there are many people on this board who do base their decisions for what they like based on what other people like.

Using those words doesn't make me wrong, and if you examine the context, especially in relation to those "ad hominem" phrases you've taken, you'll find that people were just dropping in to insult me. So I pointed out that yes, they were just using ad hom.
