wiiu and switch just now really getting into it. A friend was asking me the same thing after we had played it a lil bit a few years ago. I say it's sort of like smash in that it has a nice entry level for new players but there is serious depth to it so there is a high skill ceiling if you ever get into online or tourney play. Most of the characters are super satisfying and only a few feel like their movesets are lacking. To piggyback off that last statement you need to remember that it all comes to personal preference to me mons like braixen, suicuine, and charizard feel like they lack tools or are just less fleshed out than the rest of the cast that said they are completely viable a braixen waifu fag one evo 2016(?? I think), charizard works as a heavy hitter with his fly giggles, and suicune is designed for ranged keepaway countering.
>>35269001the action dojo takes you through all the skills a mon has but none of the subtle mechanics behind them still a good tutorial. Also plays up the rock> paper> scissors of fighting games with charge> attack> grab.
>>35269026this guy was right in the first statement and somewhat biased in the second
no disrespeck dont tout opinion as fact. great standalone fighting game that put arena fighting and 2d fighting together in a way that worked.
>>35269286While it has simple inputs the depth comes from the swapping 3d arena and traditional 2d to change up the footsies spacing game which is what fighting games focus on.
Try it, rent it, play it somewhere if you can. The single player is decent enough to give you shit to do but multiplayer is the real shit if you can get some couch play or find a local scene it really does have more going for it than it lets on. That and continued support for the game helps.
pic not included but maybe one day
