If anything they really gave life to the models. From their death animations to even just simple attack animations the stadium models really gave pokemon personality. Some weren't that lucky, some of the models made for the original Japan only pokemon stadium are pretty weird and stiff, but by stadium 2 they looked pretty damn good for n64.
