LGPE, SwSh and BDSP models are basically the same as 3DS', with different textures and lighting
While the sprites aren't really the same, even though they draw inspiration from. Even in the case you're so obsessively nitpicking ("gen 2 to 3 backsprites"), you're still fundamentally remaking the sprite, not to mention Emerald, just like BW, implement whole animations altogether. So yeah, not the same.
