>>53111802-It should be noted, however, that Cilan believed Misty to be among the three famous sisters at first introduction, so Misty is objectively NOT unattractive, the important distinction is Misty isn't ugly, just that her gag is being treated like Brock's womanizing, rather than something more plot relevant.
-Misty is showing much more restraint this episode, one wonders if Episode 2's dynamic was a fluke (just as Brock is EXTRA Brock in this episode) maybe they'll calm down on his gags moving forward.
-An interesting moment, this one is more neutral and up for debate. Cilan analyses Psyduck (as he enjoys doing) and describes why its a perfect pair for Misty. This is interesting on a few levels:
1. Misty has a reluctant relationship to Psyduck, and its funny that Cilan describes them as such a perfect pair. (This could be a hint towards her tsundere nature, but I'm 50/50 on it).
2. Psyduck's contribution to her relationship is a "calming" one that helps balance out Misty's "fiery personality". This is simultaneously a hint for Ash and against Ash. On the one hand, Ash usually feeds INTO Misty's fiery self, so this could be a strong anti-hint. On the other hand, (modern) Ash is also cool and collected often and befriends Hatenna later in the episode and calms down Hatterene (a proof in-context of the episode that he has a calming effect on others).
3. Ash also seems to be studying Misty's reaction as she waves off Cilan's interpretation that Psyduck is her perfect match.
-Some nice continuity between Cilan and Brock, and Ash's championship bout.
-Cilan gets an anime sweat-drop, proving once and for all that Misty's sweat-drop in her doki-doki scene was a specific choice, not a stylistic reinterpretation of the usual visual shorthand.
-It's cute that Team Rocket has nicknames for everyone. The "original brat" trio.
