Not that things are much better for strait people given how high divorce rates are these days, but the truth is that being gay does significantly lessen your chances of ever finding a lifelong partner. You're limited to a tiny fraction of the population right out the gate, then factor in finding someone with a personality that meshes with you (which is difficult no matter who you are), then remember that a whole lot of gay people are insufferable for one reason or another and would be terrible in a long-term relationship, and finally add all the various societal pressures from within and without the LGBTOMGWTFBBQ "community", which itself is absolutely cancerous on every level, and you see why serious relationships are so rare.
