here's this shit
"Welcome to your first day on the Product Testing team, everyone!" the guide laughs as she leads us through the halls of the Aether Foundation. "As you may be able to see, we've been in a bit of a crunch this season. As a result, we'll be skipping orientation and getting you straight to work today!"
The place looks very futuristic; everything is made of glass and metal, and it's all sparkling clean too. For what I thought was supposed to be a Pokemon conservatory, it sure looks awfully chrome.
The guide stops at the start of a hall lined with similarly metallic looking doors, all with numbers engraved into them, like a hotel or something. "This is where you will be working. Please get situated inside of the room that was assigned to you according your employee ID and wait for instructions."
I step inside the room labelled "004", which—not shocking at all—is the employee number I was given when I signed up for the job. The room's pretty cramped, even though there's nothing more than a table and a chair in it. There's a tinted window on the wall, too, and I can only assume that there are a bunch of lab rats watching me from behind the glass.
As soon as I seat myself down, the speaker in the corner of the room crackles to life. "Welcome to the Aether family. The envelope that you should see in front of you contains the peripherals that you will need for your first assignment." The voice sounds pretty robotic, it's clear that the man on the other end is just reading from a script.
Inside the envelope—a white, plastic sleeve with an Aether logo that's been crudely taped over the name Silvally—is a small assortment of colour coded disks, along with an evaluation sheet that I assume I'll have to fill out when I'm done. "Your task today will be to evaluate the biological compatibilities of our new experimental creation—codename Full. Please read the provided information thoroughly; if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact your supervisor."
