The local rescue groups have run short on their vehicles and staff. You may volunteer your large pokemon to help rescue people and pokemon from sinking ships, burning buildings, etc. If your pokemon is large enough, it can carry some rescuees in its mouth. If you stuff too many people in its mouth, it might swallow by accident. If that happens you'll have to tie a rope to yourself and go in after them when you return to base or find a way to make the "rescue vehicle" release the rescuees within.
If you keep teasing your pokemon in amie by throwing away treats, it'll bite your head for a bit and let go. Keep doing it, and it might not be so friendly.
If you have a massive enough pokemon (groudon for example), it can now be a secret base. These living secret bases will walk around the route you place them on.
