HMs are better than the status quo at allowing you to fly with more than 1 (shill)mon, but they still suck.
Say they added a non-HM way to fly with any flymon, yanmega would probably be there.
Though, every time you see them carrying someone in official art (say, the anime) they tend to be using a sort of tool to do that. So it'd need to be like that, or they'd need to be bigger.
