If Game-freak had any control over the anime than Marnie and Bede would have appeared early on JN instead off Marnie just getting only one episode at the end to push Goh and Koharu. Specially since the writers had no freaking idea on what to do with Goh and Koharu. At least you can get vague idea of the potential role that both Bede and Marnie could have played in the show. Bede being a joke rival like Georgia who dislikes Ash for getting attention from Chairman Rose while Marnie being a friendly rival with an overprotective brother and crazy fans that Ash encounter on Galar.

I feel that Game-freak litterlly designed her to be Ash's love interest, she even has her own feminine Pika-clone as her mascot. But OLM was too obsessed with pandering fujoshi to figure it out.

I mean all she needs to do to beat Serena is develop large tits and stop shaving her head. That alone might make her as hot as Kanade Suzukawa.

Ash and Marnie could have pulled off Chisato and Takina pair from Lycoris Recoil. Ash is basically "Waku Waku" like Chisato now while Marnie is similar to Takina.

Goh is basically treated as an intelligent version of Ash, their dynamic was just decent but not good enough to carry an entire show.
