The issue is that at this point in the game, all traded Pokemon that are above level 35 will disobey your commands. When you defeat Olivia at her grand trial on Akala Island, this limit increases to level 50. So for now, use other Pokemon. Once you defeat the Pokemon League, any traded Pokemon will obey you.
