I stopped buying new pokemon games after Gen 5 because I honestly no longer see the point of it. The games are INCREDIBLY formulaic (F/W/G starter, rival, villanous team using the cover legendary for evil things, 8 gyms, elite 4, champion, HMs, etc.), I have done my fair share of breeding for years and now I just want to battle without having to spend hours in order to get the IVs and natures I want and most importantly, there is no satisfaction in beating the games because the difficulty is so low.
Been said that, if simulators weren't an option I would still probably buy pokemon games. Doesn't GF realize this? Since it doesn't seem like they're going to change the formula in order to regain the attention of old fans who have outgrown the series, will they attempt to shut the simulators down if it becomes evident that their existance can hurt their profits?
