>>48364008>Gen 3 RS is complete trash.Gens 4-6 have the exact same story as Gen 3 though. Gens 1 and 2 allow players to create their own stories, since the Team Rocket plots are only small episodes over the course of the games. They're interesting, because so much is left up to the imagination. Gens 7 and 8, for better or worse, feel like visual novels with actual characters that you can watch grow and develop emotional attachments. They're interesting because they are so original, and represent the series being willing to go in different directions after being criticized as one of the most stagnant franchises in the vidya industry. Gens 3-6 beat you over the head with autismo evil teams who want to destroy the world using box legends because reasons. It's Saturday morning cartoon levels of writing. I couldn't even tell you what Team Galactic, Plasma, and Flare's motivations were, because it's all convoluted bullshit that blends together and ultimately of no consequence. The Gen 3 plot at least made sense in its own silly way, but they took a bad thing and made it worse with Gen 4. They went from Pokemon that created the ocean and continents to literal Pokegods that created time, space, and the universe. It was the wrong direction for the franchise entirely, in my opinion, and people were rightfully saying that Pokemon had jumped the shark even back in the mid 00's after Arceus had been revealed.
