I had to beat Grusha while 10 levels under him because I did him before the ghost and psychic gym and I flat out would’ve lost to Clavell and Arven and some of the Star bosses if I didn’t cheese them with revive spam.
In linear garbage like Platinum or BW you just pick one Pokemon and mindlessly mash A with it as it starts getting 10+ levels above all the content the game throws at you since the game has no fucking dynamic difficulty at all.
