>>49943758I agree with the first part but the problem with the second part is that cannot reasonably go on forever. They have to pad it out with shit and make Ash lose so he remains the plucky underdog on his pokemon journey. If he was constantly challenging the league he'd wind up winning enough of them that the premise doesn't quite work anymore.
But yeah I really like the dynamic between these three, and the way characters were written in the first season in general. I haven't watched much since Battle Frontier though, just bits and pieces of newer seasons after that and some of the XY anime. Journeys seems like the most divisive so far but I haven't watched any of it yet.
