An employee of Devon Corp. comes up to you in the forest in search of Shroomish (good choice!). Soon after he is jumped by a member of Team Aqua in Emerald Version, and after saving him he rewards you with a Great Ball.
As we make for the exit of Petalburg W- *stump* Oh my, I think I just tripped over a Pokémon! Wow, somehow this little guy completely slipped my mind! It's Slakoth!
Slakoth and its final evolution share the Truant ability, causing them to skip their turn every other time. It first evolves into Vigoroth at level 18, who lacks the hindering ability. It actually has good enough stats to keep in this form on its own, but at level 36 faces its final evolution. Slaking gets access to an insane stat spread (seriously, all of its stats are really good), and pretty much can fully utilize a good majority of the moves in the game (Its TM list includes Earthquake, Shadow Ball, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, etc.) Unfotunately unless you're in a double battle with a Pokémon that knows Skill Swap, Slaking does have a weakness in its ability.
