In turn it's mostly just people trying to get unique superficial "trophy" Pokemon and the rejects/spares are just tossed onto the rich people's Pokemon peddling market-- like the one Emily's parents got her Mawile from for her 8th birthday. That and just people lacking meta knowledge that we have as players so nobody is literally trying to force their Pokemon to breed 24/7 for genetic gods and stuff.
