Each MC was conceived in vitro using a woman's egg (your actual mom) and then placed to live in a quiet town under the supervision of a scientist for unknown reasons, but it's probably some secret program about raising super pokemon trainers a la super soldiers.
Pokeballs emit radiation, which is why people carry just a few of them. The stronger your pokemon are, the more radiation. You need to be thicc, fit and do years of exercise outoors in order to carry 6, which is why hikers can have like 6 geodudes. Pokebreeders also carry 6 but they are weak baby mon. Your character can carry 6 level 100 pokemon without trouble as a result of genetic engineering, something that could come useful in a war.
