I didn't think much of him until I heard the trading/evolution process. I imagined Shelmet and Karrablast going by each other, then Karrablast charges Shelmet and wrecks the shit outta him (the forehead scar) and forces him out of his armor in a violent kerfuffle. He barely makes it to his new owner, and develops a tough guy attitude with his badass membrane wrapped around him. He pretends to not care, but deep inside, he loves his trainer because he/she reminds him of barely escaping death. He is fighting something in his mind, but he does not know what he is fighting against, so he keeps running (a bad case of PTSD).
Plus, just look at that design; I'm a sucker for badass ninja Pokemon (Greninja is also a favorite).
TLDR: Karrablast/Escalavier is a dick and Accelgor is a bro.
