Pokemon would genuinely be a better game if you started out, got your starter pokemon, and continued the entire rest of the game with basically no interuptions. For an example of an old game doing this, look at Red/Blue version. For an example of a new game doing this, look at BotW.
Can keep rivals and the evil team, but I want everything else gone. Give me five minutes with the professor at the start and then leave me the fuck alone for the rest of the game. I have absolutely no idea what the story was in Sword/Shield, and I beat it immediately before getting on /vp/ and seeing this thread.
