>>55083248The game is great but you would need to play with custom rules/limits. The meta decks in base set are worse than the meta decks now. Probably 6 years ago I was still having drinks playing with my base, fossil, forest cards I had from when I was a kid (I might have scoffed up some of my would be valuable cards though lol).
Now we have proxy cards and the rules are like this. Pretty simple.
-Only 1 of each trainer per deck
-If your pokemon is only a basic and cannot evolve you can only play one of that card per deck. If it evolves once you can play 2 basics and 1 stage 1. And if it evolves twice you can only play one stage 2, two stage 1, and 3 basics.
These rules are enough to have fun but you can feel free to change it from there. Base rules are just too unbalanced to be fun for anyone, sadly. Not as much of a problem when you don't have all the cards or when you are playing ai though like in the gameboy game.
