There were also a few special tournaments like monotype tournaments , rental tournaments, and mix up or some shit tournaments. PWT was very fun, and I sank many, many hours in to it. It certainly had less options than the BF, but it wasn't just standard battles.
It also had triple and rotation battles :^). I do actually miss rotation battles though. I can't believe triple battles get more love.
