I thought Tracey was the one that performed chest compression while Misty was worn out from swimming through that maelstrom. And it wouldn't surprise me if Misty knew how to perform CPR, since she grew up in a big swimming facility and helps out with the water-type gym and even with performances.

That said I don't think they could have put a mouth to mouth scene in there anyway. Even if Shudo approved and handwaved it as not romantic in the slightest, lol

Misty is a bit taller, which means she has better reach. Misty is known for being a strong swimmer, which builds endurance and muscle. Misty has a highly aggressive and combative personality, which probably means she wants it more.

Yes. I am telling you that. After all the teasing from Melody and such, he thought that people wouldn't see it as emotional at all but just something Misty did to "protect her place in the Pokemon world" or something to that effect

People do love to bring up Shudo during these discussions though. My take on that is, while he was an interesting, creative guy, he was also highly eccentric, so people taking everything he said at face value are probably missing some context somewhere. Especially taking the rest of the creative team, writers and artists, into account.
