Everyone loves HGSS because they are very well crafted remakes. They look great in the Gen 4 engine, the original spirit kept in tact and the newer mechanics like abilities and the physical/special split were integrated seamlessly without ruining what the games were.
ORAS are very shoddy made games, using the same horrible engine as X and Y. The difficulty took the same nose dive to the ground as X and Y did and after the bad taste that X and Y left in everyone's mouth this seemed to really put the final nail in the coffin for a series that most see on its legitimate decline.
