I’m a shameless sucker for Johto, so I’d definitely head there. once in the region I would hunt down the professors and see if could bribe them with what’s left of my plane ticket money for a starter, preferably cyndaquil. if not I’d spend it on pokeballs and just catch a basic route mon to start, teach it headbutt form the guy near ilex forest and knock trees until I got a Heracross. after that it’s smooth sweeping of dozens of trainers until I’ve amassed enough reputation for people to avoid my training areas and enough cash to build my team up. I’d be a trainer and live in the rough, growing and scavenging wild berries for food and sparing some cash if I’m unlucky. once I take on a few gyms I’d head to the game corner and play until I could buy the prize pokemon they have. I’d remain a drifter in the region, maybe take a vacation to Kanto if I really get bored. I probably would end up enlisting with team rocket solely for the paycheck if I’m desperate, then use connections I’ve made in the pokecriminal underworld to shatter Giovanni’s empire of pokemon trafficking.
