If you aren't going to remake old gen games using the PLA engine, I honestly don't see the point. Why would I want to experience Pokemon YET AGAIN in a top-down chibi format? I want to see Johto from a new perspective where the Pokemon roam and I can actually explore the environments.

It released in time for "the holidays", but still released before December. I really wonder if any parents doing an ounce of research on games they buy for their kids before Christmas are being influenced by the Metacritic score-- or if they're just going, "Yeah, little Timmy loves Pokemon, he said he wanted Violet, I'll get it for him".

I made a smurf account so I could play ranked with lower level players instead of Masters just to turn my brain off and stomp. The game FORCES so many fucking bot games on you before you're allowed to play with people. Even when I got to Ranked, every single game in Beginner and half the games in Great were fucking bot games.

I don't remember it being this bad when I got the game back when it first came out. No wonder there are so many people showing up to Masters with 46% WR as the seasons go on: the game is actively teaching them wrong by giving them so many bot games to "rank up" against. Once they get to actual humans, they get fucking rolled.

The whole reason I emulated it was cause I skipped out on the entire DS/3DS generation and had no knowledge or tools in order needed to try to save it on some physical anything.
