I don't get what the issue with communication is. If you're careful, pens and pencils work just fine for writing down short notes. Granted, it kind of helps if you already wrote in a messy scrawl, and you've got people that can read your handwriting. Otherwise, just practice talking. It'll take a while, but it's probably doable with enough work.
Different Zoroark-anon, here, I've been keeping this pretty well hidden. Nobody's bothered to ask since I started writing notes and made myself look a little sick while 'human'. Only issue I've come across is not being sure if I 'sound' the same when I tried using illusions to speak.
