Whoopdy doo the script is closer to the japanese, but its also extremely literal and without wit.
No more gay james, no more clever puns or references, no more puns coming from anyone who isn't Team Rocket unless the Japanese already did it.
This is just generally bad, I watched the first 10 episodes of XY on netflix and realized that this issue is absolutely FATAL to "smart" characters like Clemont who STILL speak as if they're making sure all the kiddies at home can understand them.
