>>43093734Can't speak for VGC but in SM OU he's a force for good. He's generally easy to prepare for in the teambuilder since his most common sets (Scarf and Defensive) are easier to counter than other Grounds like Gliscor/Excadrill/Garchomp and the sets that are harder to counter (Z-move SD) are easy to kill offensively. Meanwhile he offers an insane amount of utility in the builder, covering everything in SM OU is damn near impossible and Lando is a quick and easy way of slapping on important roles like Volt Switch immunity, physical stopgap, revenge killer, Defogger, etc. Basically he takes a meta where most players accept that their team autoloses to something in builder, and makes squeezing everything in a little bit easier without placing too much of a strain on his opponents. The fact that he doesn't heal at all and often gets smacked with SR + unresisted hits makes him alright to deal with in-battle too, although granted U-turn is a dumb move.
>what about BW and ORASHe's still a really good scarfer (and in BW the Fighting Gem set is pretty nasty) but he's not nearly the best mon in these tiers. His strengths just aren't as needed compared to crazy-ass SM, and you'll find more people saying Excadrill, Gliscor, etc. might be better than him depending on the meta and their preferences. The fact that he's so big in SM says more about SM than Lando himself.
