>>31968735It actually was a feature back in Gen V, but only in a limited form. I don't have any good screenshots of it, but the Pokemon Musical let you put little accessories onto your Pokemon's sprites temporarily. Sadly, it wouldn't be carried over into battle or anything else besides the Musical, but it was fun regardless.
