>>45083901That statement actually brings up a lot of good questions, if I may go on an autistic rant for a bit. Firstly, let's talk about emotional content. Last night I was thinking that Mewtwo and Lucario sort of have a similar thing going on. Now, not having seen the Lucario movie, I'm going to be making some bold assumptions here. But both of them have that coolness factor going for them, as well as well demonstrated power, and a similar marketing push. The main difference is Mewtwo is a bad boy, while Lucario is a good boy, pardon the pun. You like Unown for a similar reason, how it was portrayed in the movie, yes? Some people would get those vibes from Entei instead (although they may have daddy issues in that case). Secondly, what even is a legendary Pokemon? Some cover legendaries are obviously forces of nature, while other secondary ones might be protectors of something (although honestly what do the Kanto birds do aside from hang out with Lugia sometimes?), and Heatran is just a lava frog that lives inside the earth and is strong. Mewtwo falls in the powerlevel of the first class, and technically the lore level of the last class. Theoretically, anyone can make a Mewtwo (didn't a female sounding one show up in a movie from the BW/XY era?), even if it's difficult and probably super unethical. I guess what I'm saying is, in some ways, Unown are more like a legendary Pokemon than Mewtwo, as fucked as that might sound to anybody.
