When limited by a turn-based mechanic, you're "always" going to eat what the other guy throws, essentially giving him a free turn. In a realistic fight this could not always be the case, and there could be always a moment for a safe switch.
This could result in stubborn trainers doing nothing but switch their pokemon, refusing to proceed with the fight under a bad match-up.
Shouldn't then be natural that a switch ban would arise? Maybe limit the number of times a trainer can do that?
