well today I learned that even at +3 that anorith cannot ohko a graveler at the same level with metal claw, and it will retaliate with magnitude. norman's plan B was dig graveler, and even though it worked out it was fucking scary
>lead gyarados for that sweet intimidate
>figure he can take the first one, swapping in and out for yawns
>turns out even at -2 attack slaking still hits like a truck, and it takes gyarados to mid yellow before it's put down by half my team
>the vigoroth actually causes even more havok, almost one-shotting tentacruel on a crit slash, bringing graveler to low-yellow with feint attacks thanks to shitroll magnitudes, and making me risk swellow's life to put it down as well
>the bigger, scarier slaking i was not fucking around with, but needed a sacrifice for a safe swap, which is why i benched minun and brought koffing to the fight. focus punch ohko'd it, letting me bring in graveler safely, who promptly dug the second slaking to death
that norman fight was damn stressful, and I severely underestimated his first two pokemon. feels bad losing anorith while training *again*, but whatever. now to figure out if i'm going to go back for solrock against winona or be greedy and save the encounter for possible bagon and look for something else
