This is probably going to be a bit difficult for me to put into words as the B & W anime came out what seems like a century ago and I started a new playthrough of White 2 before shelving it.
I'll state the obvious before going into serious details: Yes, Iris stood out to me because she was a brown cutie. Ash has never had one of those girls as a companion before. Yes, my favorite type of mon is dragon and this drew me to her initially. Plus, her luscious hair is so beautiful to me. I want to run my hands through it and smell it on a daily basis. With all that out of the way, its time to talk about why I like her as a person. I find Iris to be quite endearing. Sure she called him out on his bullshit when it mattered but she was usually on playfully teasing him about cliche'd things he did considering how he had so many years to change. She was kind of bratty but what do you expect from a young lady? Iris was always ready for an adventure and full of energy. This can be seen in her love of playing with wild pokemon and literally swinging through forest trees. Her journey to become a dragon type master shows itself in Dragonite, who refused to obey commands and was completely full of itself, but ended up learning to work with her nearing the end of the series. It can also be seen in her constant fear of ice types as they were the cold counter to her beloved Axew, dragon types in general, and was one of the blocks in her road to succeeding Drayden. She grows braver over time by fighting against her ice loving rival, Georgia, and becomes more confident in her pokemon and her own abilities in general. Also, her ingame version has really nice hair and that dress is stunning.
