>>35341434RT's is hit and miss. On one hand, you have the buried treasure hunts in Buried Relic and the wishes from Wish Cave, and on the other you have horseshit like running 20+ floor dungeons 5+ times to recruit something. All of this ends up being done all alone, because teammates in RT are absolutely useless. It hurts the adventure feel when it's just you all alone. Also, the cap of 24 items (20 in toolbox and 4 held items by the team) really hurts exploration too.
Everything after
Darkrai in Sky fares better. You can usually use teammates since they're not "lets spam my 0PP move" stupid, the different IQ groups give more incentive to use a team, and the rewards from random missions are much better than RT's obsession with level 1 escorts for a Max Elixir. There's more Level 1 dungeons if you're into that sort of thing, though none are anywhere near as rewarding as Wish Cave was. Also most of the dungeons are nowhere near as long as RT's could be.
I don't remember much about Gates, but that's basically just "build Paradise." There's an obscene grind to hit Perfect Rank, and the level 1 dungeons are awful from what I recall because of the fact there's nothing good to use and everything has mug bite/incinerate.
Super has no random missions, which hurts things. The break system kills your choices, unless you decide to deposit everything and enter a dungeon to Give Up instantly in the hopes said pokemon is off break. All of the missions are set in stone, almost no dungeon breaks 40F, and it has bar none the worst Level 1 (well, level 5 here) dungeon in the series. There is no reason why Sacred Ruins should pit you against fully evolved pokemon that can OHKO from across the room on floor 1, no reason why Guillotine should be on floor 1, and no reason why there's NO REWARD at the end.
Super DOES, however, have dungeons with rewards at the end of them, and the rewards are even things you'll likely use, like the Water Looplet, which is good.
