The animation in the 3D games is just so lazy and shitty in general, and that's 99% of the problems with them in general. You still feel like you're playing an old 2D game, but all of the shit you used to let fly because of primitive 2D graphics like the basic world/setting, shitty story and low quality/lack of animation and interaction with pokémon and characters are still there and more in your face than ever because you just expect more.
