I don't want to start a genwar or anything, but both first generations are rather unplayable for me these days. Even the recent regions grew better and I still want to replay them. Between Gen 1 and 2, 2 is basically Gen 1 with the scrapped shit, reducing the value of both Johto and its Pokémon. It's like they weren't confident with what they were to present, so they brought back every single thing of the first Gen that made it good to guarantee they would be sold, which really sucks because HGSS proved the region can have its uniqueness. I also love the majority of the dex (mainly Hoppip and Ledyba line), although they were treated as if they shouldn't have been there in first place.
