In all seriousness, unlike Serena, Dawn was already at the peak of her "Journey/Progress", and the only thing left for her would be winning the GF, which given her status, it can't happen off-screen, and evolutions and new mons are not "Progress" whatsoever, it's neat to see them, but don't mean anything for the character nor the audience since there's no a built-up or anything with it, basically just eye candy.
