>>31075107I don't think that Pokemon is entirely going downhill at all, but some of the things done in SM are questionable. Things I refer to for instance has to be the trend GF has been doing for years now, by cucking their inital 3rd legendary mascot/trio master to be weaker than its counterparts and then in the 3rd game/sequel be stronger, but the execution Zygarde got is terrible compared to Kyurem.
I'd wish Game Freak actually put effort into making new abilities, instead of rehashing old ones and add a tiny micro twist that makes it "different" either a tiny effect or a fucking different name. Necrozma basically got Filter, but with a fancy name. Zygarde got Zen Mode, but with a passive healing effect thanks to the 100% form's insane HP stat etc
One of the most annoying things in SM has to be the lackluster selection of Alolan Gen 1 Pokemon, the concept is nice, but vaguely used.
Pokemon probably gonna stay relevant for at least the next decade or more, but it is pretty difficult to see this popculture phenomenon perish, it's like trying to view a world without Disney. You can't lol.
